What to Expect from our Musical Instrument Repair Process

Four easy steps to fixing your instrument so you can keep playing. Our musical instrument repair process starts with checking in your instrument at our repair shop.

Picture this: After months of practice, your band is finally firing on all cylinders. During the finale of your favorite cover, you’re really feeling it. As you strum the final chords, something takes hold of you. You pull that guitar off your shoulder, raise it high above your head and crash it down on the stage in a triumphant explosion of sound.

But in your rapturous state, you forgot you’re not a rock god – you’re financial analyst in Fitchburg. And you’re not in a cavernous sports arena – you’re in a garage with a 7½ ft. ceiling and guitar pieces hanging from the rafters. Now what?

No matter what instrument you play or how it was damaged, we have a convenient 4-step musical instrument repair process to repair or restore it.

Our 4-Step Musical Instrument Repair Process

Step 1 - Check-In

Take advantage of our three convenient instrument check-in options:

  • Drop off at our Fitchburg instrument retail location
  • Ship to us (fill out our contact form at the bottom of this page to receive shipping information)
  • We'll pick it up (if your school is in our service area - contact your Band Director for more info)

Step 2 - Evaluation

Once we have your instrument, we’ll evaluate it and provide a free, no-obligation repair quote. Routine repairs like replacing a broken string or re-gluing a seam cost less, while more involved repairs (such as a broken bowhead or a cracked violin body) cost more. In extreme musical instrument repair situations with significant damage, replacing it can sometimes cost less than repair.

Step 3 - Approval

You’ll have the chance to review the suggested repairs and cost estimate before providing your approval. Once we get the green light, we’ll give you an estimated date of completion. Standard turnaround time (for non-emergency repairs) is between 7-10 days, but this can vary based on the season. Let us know if you have a tight deadline and we'll do our best to make it happen.

Step 4 - Completion & Delivery

You will receive confirmation once your instrument repair is complete. We will hold it for pick-up, or you can choose shipping or delivery (if your school is in our service area - contact your Band Director for more info).

With one of the Midwest’s largest and most experienced music repair technician teams, we can handle the musical instrument repair needs of a solo performer or an entire school district.  From high school music directors to parents of a budding prodigy – or those who enjoy playing rock god in their garage – the music must play on.

Our easy musical instrument repair process makes it easy to give your babies the TLC they need and gets you back to making music without missing a beat! Visit our Fitchburg instrument showroom or call 608.661.8600 today to get started.
